Content Creation and Management provides instructors a way to create course materials and assignments in a clear, organized format using folders, modules, or units.

Create New Content
  1. Step 1
    From within a D2L course, select Content.

  2. Step 2
    From the Table of Contents, select a module.

    From the Upload/Create dropdown menu, select the option to use and follow the prompts to add content.

    Note:

    eLearning recommends to periodically test linked items to ensure that the link is working correctly and links to the desired content.

Link Existing Tools to Content
  1. Step 1
    From within a D2L course, select Content.
  2. Step 2
    From the Table of Contents, select a module.

    From the Existing Activities dropdown menu, select the option to use and follow the prompts to add content.
    The Existing Activities menu allows users to select an option and follow the prompts to add content.
Manage Content Topics
  1. Step 1
    Within a module, locate the content topic to delete.
  2. Step 2
    From the Actions dropdown menu next to the Topic Title, select Delete Topic.

  3. Step 3
    Select the radio button for permanently delete both the topic from Content and the associated file or activity from the course.

    Select Delete.
  5. Step 5
    To Hide Content, repeat steps 1 and 2 of Manage Content Topics.
  6. Step 6
    From the Actions dropdown menu next to the Topic Title, select Hide from Users.

Edit Content Topics
  1. Step 1
    Within a module, locate the content topic to rename.
  2. Step 2
    From the Actions dropdown menu next to the Topic Title, select Edit Properties in Place.

  3. Step 3
    Select the Topic Title and enter a new title in the title field.
  4. Step 4
    To add restriction dates on a content topic, repeat steps 1-3 of Edit Content Topics.
  5. Step 5
    Select Add Dates and Restrictions.

    Select Add Start Date, Add Due Date, and/or Add End Date to set a date restriction.

    Note:

    You can use any combination of the three date options when setting a date restriction.

  7. Step 7
    Select Update.

    Note:

    The date restriction(s) will be added to the topic and set dates will appear in the calendar and upcoming events.
