View and Correct Accessibility Issues

To view and correct accessibility issues for a file in D2L, select the accessibility indicator within D2L Content. This will open the feedback panel which displays the files accessibility score, identifies accessibility issue(s), and provides step-by-step instructions for correcting accessibility issue(s) to improve the overall accessibility of the file.

  1. Enter a course in D2L.
  2. Select Content.
  3. Locate the course file for which you wish to view and correct accessibility issues.
  4. Select the Indicator Icon for the course file to open the feedback panel.

  5. Review detected accessibility issues by selecting “What this means” and “How to…”.
    • If multiple accessibility issues are detected, select All issues to view all.

  6. Locate or download the file out of D2L, and open the file within the program in which it was created (i.e. MS Word, MS PowerPoint, etc.).

  7. Select the software and follow the step-by-step instructions to correct the identified issue. Repeat this step for each identified accessibility issue.

  8. After correcting all accessibility issues, save the file.
  9. Return to the feedback panel in D2L, and drag and drop or upload the updated file into D2L to replace the existing file.
