Use TextAid

New text is a word processing tool that allows users to listen to text read aloud, as well as utilize reading and writing assistance tools. Users can save text to a personal TextAid Library or download the files in several formats including Word, PDF and MP3.

Access New Text
  1. From the Online Tools menu within My Home page, select TextAid.
  2. Select New Text.
    Select New text in ReadSpeaker TextAid.
Listen to Text
  1. From the Online Tools menu within My Home page, select TextAid.
  2. From within TextAid, type or copy and paste text into New Text.
  3. Select Listen.
    Select Listen to hear text read aloud.
Reading Assistance Tools
  1. From the Online Tools menu within My Home page, select TextAid.
  2. From within TextAid, type or copy and paste text into New Text.
  3. Expand Tools to select Page Mask or Reading Ruler.
    Select Page mask or Reading Ruler from the Tools menu.
  4. To exit the Page Mask or Reading Ruler, select the X on the right side of the tool.
    Select X to close either Screen mask or Reading ruler.
Writing Assistance Tools
  1. From the Online Tools menu within My Home page, select TextAid.
  2. From within TextAid, select New Text to open a blank document.
  3. Select Writing Assistance.
    Select Writing Assistance.
  4. Select any combination of Letters, Words and/or Sentences to hear them read aloud while typing.

    Note:

    There can be a delay when using this feature.
