Making Videos Accessible in Your D2L Course- Complete the Audio Description for Video Training to ensure videos meet accessibility requirements!

Making Videos Accessible in Your D2L Course

Posted on July 22, 2026

Complete the self-paced, Audio Description for Video training to learn about the Federal Title II accessibility regulations requiring prerecorded video to include audio descriptions when essential visual information is not already communicated through narration.

Audio descriptions provide spoken narration of visual elements, such as actions, speaker changes, charts, graphs, diagrams, settings, and on-screen text to ensure individuals who are blind or have low vision can fully understand the content.

Training topics include:

  • Introduction to Audio Description for video
  • Two options for incorporating Audio Description into videos (Built-in vs. Separate Audio Description Track)
  • Evaluating existing videos to determine whether Audio Description is needed
  • Building-in Audio Description when creating new videos
  • Audio Description examples, resources, training, and support available to faculty
