Lumi Idea for Discussions

Lumi Idea for Discussions provide assistance to create new discussion topics or refine existing ones for better interaction and participation.

From within a D2L course, select Content.
From the Table of Contents, select a Content module that contains existing course material like D2L Pages, Word documents, and/or PowerPoint presentations.
From within the Content module, select Upload/Create, and select New Discussion.
On the New Topic page, select Generate Discussion Ideas.
Select the Number of Ideas to generate.
Optional: Select a Bloom's Taxonomy level appropriate for your assessment goals. If Bloom’s Taxonomy is unnecessary, leave the field set to Select Level.
Select a Content Source from the following options:
1. Include all supported activities in the current module when generating an idea for a new discussion topic.
2. Select only certain activities when generating an idea for a new assignment.
Select Generate. In the Prompt Ideas dialog, a list of discussion ideas is generated.
Select the idea to use for discussion.
Select Insert.

Note:

If you are editing an existing discussion topic, select Proceed in the pop-up dialog.
Fill in discussion topic details, such as the Topic Title and Grade Out Of.
Select to make the discussion visible to students.
Select Save.
