Generate Quiz Questions provide quiz questions generated from existing course content and learning materials within the Question Library.

  1. Step 1
    From the Assessments menu within a D2L course, select Quizzes.
  2. Step 2
    Select the Question Library tab.
  3. Step 3
    From the Question Library page, select Generate Questions.
    Select the Generate Questions option
  4. Step 4
    Select the Number of Questions to generate.
  5. Step 5
    Select the Question Type.
  6. Step 6
    Optional: Select a Bloom's Taxonomy level appropriate for your assessment goals. If Bloom’s Taxonomy is unnecessary, leave the field set to Select Level.
  7. Step 7
    Optional: Enter additional instructions to guide focus, tone, audience, style, etc.
  8. Step 8
    Optional: Select Include Feedback to have Lumi generate feedback for question answer options.
  9. Step 9
    Select a Question Source from the following options:
    1. Course Activities: Quiz questions will be generated based on existing course activities. Select Select Course Activities, then select the checkbox(es) for each item to be included.
    2. Custom Text: Quiz questions will be generated based on texted entered into the text field box.

    Select Generate.
  11. Step 11
    Select Pending Review for the first quiz question to open the Review Question dialog.
    Select Pending Review to approve or disapprove a question generated by Lumi.
  12. Step 12
    After reviewing and editing a quiz question, select one of the following:
    1. Keep and Next to keep the current quiz question and review the next question.
    2. Discard and Next to delete the current quiz question and review the next question.
    3. Close This Question to return to the generated list of questions.
  13. Step 13
    After reviewing the last quiz question, select one of the following:
    1. Keep and Finish to keep the current quiz question and return to the generated list of questions.
    2. Discard and Finish to delete the current quiz question and return to the generated list of questions.
    3. Close This Question to return to the generated list of questions.
  14. Step 14
    In the Generated Questions dialog, select Save to Section.
  15. Step 15
    Select Save to Current Section or Create New Section for your quiz questions.
  16. Step 16
    Select Save.

Note:

Questions generated with AI will appear within the Question Library and marked with spark icon indicators to denote questions were AI-generated and human reviewed, or human edited.
