Smart Import provides the ability to leverage AI technology to automatically create interactives based on a file, web page, or text provided. Interactives can be customized and reviewed prior to being added to a course.

  1. Step 1
    From within a D2L course, select Content.

    From the Table of Contents, select a Content module.
  3. Step 3
    From the Existing Activities dropdown menu, select H5P.
  4. Step 4
    Select Smart Import.
    Select Smart Import.

    Select Create Content.
    Select Create Content.

    Select the source for Smart Import:
    1. File
      1. Select File.
      2. Select Choose File and select the file.
    2. Link
      1. Select Link.
      2. Paste the URL.
    3. Text
      1. Select Text.
      2. Enter a Title.
      3. Enter the text.

    If desired, add details to the Customization box.

    Select Submit.

    This will initiate a 4-step automated process that prompts users to review, edit, and customize text and interactives:
    1. Review Text: Review the text that will be used to generate interactives. Select Continue.
    2. Review Concepts: Review the concepts to be included. Check or uncheck concepts to be included and excluded. Select Continue.
    3. Select Content Types: Check the H5P interactive type(s) to be generated. Select Generate Content.
    4. See Content: Review and edit the interactives. Select Insert to add interactives to a course.
