Student Work To Do
- What shows up in the Student Work To Do widget?
- The only items with Due/End Dates (assignments, quizzes, discussions, content) show in the widget. If the item does not need to be completed by the student, D2L recommends removing the Due/End Date so it does not appear in the widget.
- Will the Student Work To Do widget display content and assessment items that do not have a Due/End Date?
- No. The Student Work To Do widget specifically displays content and assessment items with an overdue or upcoming deadline.
- Does the Student Work To Do widget always display content and assessment items across all courses?
- The Student Work To Do widget on the D2L homepage displays all courses. The Student Work To Do widget that is placed on a Course Homepage displays content and assessment items from that specific course.
- Does the Student Work To Do widget display items that have been completed?
- No. The focus of the widget is on actionable items and work to do, not work that has been completed. With the exception of Modules, once an item has been completed, it will disappear from the widget. If you want a Module to disappear from the widget, D2L recommends adding an End Date.
- Does the Student Work To Do widget display all Overdue and Upcoming items? How far back in time and how far into the future does the widget go?
- The Student Work To Do widget displays a total of 4 weeks, 2 weeks of overdue items and 2 weeks of upcoming items.
- How often is the Student Work To Do widget updated?
- The widget can take up to 2 minutes for updates to appear. If they do not appear, have the student clear their cache to see updates immediately.
- Why would overdue items not show up in the Student Work To Do widget?
- The item is either over 2 weeks past the Due Date, has been completed by the student, and/or the End Date has passed.
- Does the Student Work To Do widget support Special Access overrides?
- Yes. If a student has a different Due/End Date due to Special Access, the student will see their individual date in the widget.
- How does content get removed for a student from the Student Work To Do widget.
- Content items with Due/End Dates appear in the widget until the item is completed. In most cases, content is considered “complete” once it has been viewed. Note: D2L does not recommend putting due dates on content modules, but rather on the content items themselves so a student can complete/view the item.
