About Class Progress

    The Class Progress tool tracks students’ overall progress in a course, including:
  • Monitoring progress for students in the course.
  • Viewing a Progress Summary for each student.
  • Tracking a student’s grades, completion of learning objectives, access of content topics, participation in discussions, assignment submissions, quiz submissions, checklist completion, survey responses, login history, and system access.
  • Viewing feedback and submissions for assignments, discussion topics, and other assessments for students.

A Note on Student Logins

    Please note the distinction between the login tracking options within Class Progress:
  • Logins displays the number of logins into the D2L System for the last 30 days, not the course.
    • Course logins (last 30 days) can be viewed within the students’ progress summary (see above for instructions) or view the Last Accessed date via the Classlist.
  • System Access displays the number of accesses in the D2L system for the last 30 days, including access via a browser, or the D2L Pulse app.

Viewing Class Progress

  1. From the Course Progress menu, select Class Progress.
  2. Select the Name of the student to view the Progress Summary. Select the student's name.
  3. Select the Report Type from the Summary column to view detailed information on that assessment or tool. Progress Summary for an example users showing various options on the page.

Customizing Class Progress

By default, the following performance indicators appear on the Class Progress page: Content Completed, Objectives, Logins, and Grades. A maximum of four performance indicators can display at any time.
    To adjust the performance indicators displayed, or the display order:
  1. From the Course Progress menu, select Class Progress.
  2. Select Settings. Selecting the Settings cog under Class Progress panel.
  3. Select the Actions menu to move a topic up or down, or to replace it. Screenshot of the Actions menu.
