Composing Discussions

Discussions can be accessed from either the Assessments or Communication menu. Once in Discussions, you will see a list of available forums and topics. After selecting a topic, you will see a list of available threads created by users within the course.

Discussion Definitions

• Forums are used to organize discussions into categories.
• Topics are the discussions in a forum.
• Threads are responses posted by a user to a topic.

Composing a Discussion Thread

1. From the Assessments or Communication menu, select Discussions.
2. Go to the forum and read the topic in which you will participate.
3. Select Start New Thread.
4. Enter a Subject.
5. Enter your Response.
6. Select Post to submit your response.
