Changing Discussion View Style

Students can choose to display discussion forums and topics in either a Grid View or Reading View (default style). Each style presents posts and replies in a distinctly different fashion without affecting the content.

NOTE: Accessing a discussion through Content will display in Reading View only. If you wish to use Grid View, you must access the discussion through the Assessments or Communication menu.

Accessing content using Reading View vs. Grid View
  1. From the Assessments or Communication menu, select Discussions.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Under the Default View section, select the Radio Button next to Grid View or Reading View.Select the Grid View or Reading View radio button
  4. Grid Style– Presents a list of posts and replies in the topic that can be selected and individually displayed in the pane below.
  5. Reading Style– Presents each post and reply as a stream of messages, allowing for continuous reading of posts.
  6. Select Save.
