A variety of self-paced trainings are available in D2L to support the use of D2L and other online resources. Use the links in the training description to self-enroll, or follow the instructions to self-enroll in the student trainings. Once enrolled, trainings can be accessed within the My Courses widget on the D2L Home page.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Literacy Training

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Literacy Training provides guidelines for understanding and using generative AI ethically and effectively, when it is appropriate. You’ll develop critical skills for evaluating generative content and biases in AI systems. You will also learn best practices for transparently generating content while avoiding misrepresentation or plagiarism. Above all, this training aims to empower you as responsible users of AI who uphold academic integrity.

Using Email and Google in D2L

Using Email and Google in D2L is a self-paced training that focuses on using email at LCC. As an LCC Student, you have two email accounts that you need to be aware of; your LCC Gmail account and your D2L Email account. This training focuses on how to access these emails as well as how to integrate your LCC Google Workspace account into your D2L account to unlock additional options for using D2L!

Attending Online Class Sessions Using WebEx in D2L Training is designed to assist students with accessing and navigating Webex for live, online sessions in D2L courses. Webex is an online communication and collaboration video-conferencing suite integrated into every D2L course. This training will provide an overview of Webex in D2L, including how to access online meetings, and audio/video options.

Creating Multimedia for Courses Using Kaltura in D2L

Creating Multimedia for Courses Using Kaltura in D2L Training is designed to assist students with accessing and creating Kaltura multimedia (video, audio, screen capture) for D2L courses. Kaltura is a video platform, integrated into D2L, that allows students to create and post multimedia to course assignment folders and discussions. This training will provide an overview of Kaltura in D2L, including how to access, create and post Kaltura multimedia into D2L courses.

Using Text-to-Speech Tools in D2L

Using Text-to-Speech Tools in D2L — Showcases two text-to-speech tools available to students within D2L, ReadSpeaker and TextAid. ReadSpeaker and TextAid provide access to a variety of reading, writing, and studying support tools for course materials both inside and outside of D2L. This training will provide an overview of both ReadSpeaker and TextAid; highlighting the tools available, as well as how to access these tools in D2L.

Viewing Instructor Feedback in D2L

Viewing Instructor Feedback in D2L — Takes students through how view feedback left by Instructors for student submissions for Quizzes, Assignments, Grades, and Class Progress. This training also looks at why it is important to view feedback left by Instructors as well as different ways to receive assistance with D2L.
